The Mount Sinai Health System is currently seeking a full-time Physician to serve as the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program Director at the Mount Sinai Hospital.

We are recruiting for a Program Director to oversee the clinical training, educational curriculum, professional development, and mentorship of the infectious disease fellows at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai - Mount Sinai Hospital. The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai - Mount Sinai Hospital Infectious Disease Fellowship is committed to providing our fellows with a diverse and rich clinical and research experiences in preparation for their future careers in infectious diseases. Our fellowship program provides comprehensive infectious disease training where fellows gain experience in HIV medicine, general and emerging infectious diseases, and transplant infectious diseases, and at Elmhurst Hospital Center, a city hospital in the most ethnically diverse neighborhood in the nation, where fellows also gain experiences evaluating infections in immigrants and travelers.
The Program Director must be currently Board certified in Infectious Diseases and have at least three years of educations and/or administrative experience in an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency or infectious disease fellowship.

Responsibilities include:
  • Supervising the infectious disease fellows, including their evaluation, promotion and any necessary disciplinary actions.
  • Overseeing the clinical rotations and outpatient clinic sessions to provide comprehensive, patient-centered clinical care and housestaff education.
  • Maintaining a learning environment conducive to fellow education in all the ACGME Competency domains.
  • Developing and expanding the educational curriculum with the Associate Program Director
  • Developing the research curriculum with the program faculty to connect fellows to mentors, projects and career development.
  • Promoting scholarly activity and educational opportunities.
  • Collaborating with the Program Director at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai - Morningside to provide system level learning and experiences for trainees within the Mount Sinai Health System.

Position Qualifications:
  • Medical Degree from an Accredited University
  • New York State Medical License
  • Board Certified in Infectious Disease
  • Minimum 3 years' experience teaching fellows in infectious diseases
  • Prior position as an associate program director preferred
  • Committed to Mount Sinai Health System and the communities they serve
  • Compensation range from 226K to 330K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Mount Sinai Health System provides a salary range to comply with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
